I'm posting a 2-in-1 post today (insert above title here)
Don't blame me. That's just the way it is.
Hm, so
yesterday, all my troubles seemed so far away. Well it was a good day by my standards. Due to some rigourous partying and some late night Russell Peters watching, I woke up a tad bit off 12. A special occasion it was indeed, because it was MY MUM'S BIRTHDAY! *HURRAY!*
We decided to have a full-fledged lunch because of the luminous situation we then found ourselves in. Unfortunately, the area around Suntec/Marina Square/Millenia Walk was so jam packed with people in cars and well, people in general that there was simply no way we could get a parking spot to get a whiff of the wonders that lay within the confines of the Marina Mandarin Hotel. Pap being the rather-finicky-about-being-around-too-many-people type, decided we were better off looking for other means of replenishment.
And so we ended up at the Holiday Inn. Curious how that happened, though no regrets whatsoever.

Sugar and butter on a plate. One of the more random photos I took, along with these next few beauties.

1) Bro and I. 2) Ha! Take that you teabag!

3) Now THAT'S fine dining! 4) All smiles!
After lunch, Cabe and I slipped off to go to Cineleisure to play pool. Now I didn't know that the pool tables were so expensive on Saturdays, Sundays and Public Holidays so we went ahead anyway and played for a good 1 and a half hours before leaving. I quite enjoy the pool place at Cine so it was a good bargain as far as I'm concerned. Not only is the place not as cramped as that Marina Square place, the tables and cues are in good condition. And since I couldn't get the pool pics from Jere from the last pool session, I decided to take a few of my own.

Well I think the pictures speak for themselves. Heh. Notice the beige-y colour of the playing surface. It's simply magical and oh-so-smooth to the touch! Splendid.
After spending a whopping $18 on pool and losing 3-2 to Cabe in pool, we went to Citylink Mall to get a birthday present for Mummy dearest. After a short amount of browsing time (we only went into one shop), we settled for a pink bear that says "Love to Mom" on it and a card with a butterfly cartoon-y pic on it. Splendid. Bought a rose for her too. She was real touched. Doubly splendid!
At 8, Mum and I went to watch Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End. The review will be up shortly, and maybe even on another blog because I've been contemplating doing a blog on my so-called serious writing. Do read that one too if it comes up! Come to think of it, I think I shall put it up. Perhaps a Livejournal or a Wordpress.
Ah, so we finally move on to today. [Take a breather here, feel free to go get a glass of water or something before we continue. I'm in no rush really]
I woke up pretty on time today. To be honest, the alarm clock that Mum gave me is really useless. It rang before my handphone did but still failed to wake me up. It's still good to have it there though.
Surprisingly, I managed to get a lift from Pap today all the way to school. He dropped Cabe at Barker too. Along Dunearn Road, Pap accidentally knocked down this pigeon that was flying around. As it was landing in Pap's car's direction, I think it was pretty much a goner. Reminded me slightly of that video I happened to see of the suicide at one of the Singaporean MRT stations. Gory stuff. We even heard a knock from the bottom of the chassis. In other words, GOOD GAME! Pap felt really bad about it though. I, as usual, felt no more than sorry for the bird-brained bird (well what can you expect really).
Arrived in school just in time for Speech Comm. Impromptu speeches were the highlight of today's tutorial, and I really can't be more pleased that they're over. Honestly, a speech that I can't prepare for? Now that's just scary. But I think I did okay. My speech seemed really unsure and unprepared though. Sigh, hopefully at least a B+ this time. At least? Come on!
Seeing how Speech Comm ended an hour early, we decided to go to KAP for lunch albeit w/o Jiande that
pangseh kia. Writhing from all the graphic imagery in
Fast Food Nation, we all refrained from eating the beef burgers and decided to keep to a clean, shit-free meal of fish and chicken (you must watch the movie to understand). Along the way, there was a lot of laughter and poking, slapping and pinching, and we've established that Cheryl Choy is an innocent girl (don't worry Cheryl, that's not always a bad thing! :D)
WritComm, as usual, was nothing worth mentioning. But now, it's time for some pictures. (Everyone say YAY!)

1) And that's how you poke Becks! 2) Shrek and Fiona: After Marriage

3) Ronald rubbed me the wrong way. 4) Just being his old Shrek-y self!
And that, ladies and gents, concludes my excruciatingly long post.

Byebye!
